Viso Vaz, also known as "Blood Challenge", is a Tovimas custom where two or more parties settle arguments by a fight to the death, or in modern Tovimas, until all but one is incapacitated. In a Viso Vaz, the parties wager their title and the privileges of the title. For example, one could wager their title of homeowner, thereby wagering their home. Or, one wagers their job title, thereby wagering their position and salary.
Before the modern Unified Tovimas, Viso Vaz duels and wagers were brutal and less tamed, with deaths to the losing party and many of one's property and wealth being claimed via Viso Vaz victories.
In modern Tovimas, Viso Vaz rarely occur with grand wagers. Common Viso Vaz involved a battle of wits or skills among colleagues in the same field. Pilots do blood challenges to claim each other's rank. Employees do blood challenges to get each other's salary for the month. Competing classmates do blood challenges to win the right to court a potential mate. Most Viso Vaz challenges are not recognize as legal contracts, especially non-officiated Viso Vaz. Most privately conducted Viso Vaz are typically nullified if disputed in official court.
